Food Magic

by admin on October 11th, 2011

Since time began and people started to cook they have always wanted to find better ways of making food taste better for both the palate and of course eventually the masses. Food is big business and having the tastiest around would indeed make your business flourish. In comes MSG, a naturally occurring enzyme that was found to make food taste better than it is. Hence, it entered mainstream food manufacturing and could be found on almost anything processed and packed in cans or plastics.

The food additive as it is classified in many developed countries around the world has got a bad rap ever since rumors came out that food from China and other Asian countries are heavily loaded with the additive and that it can cause severe health issues. Hundreds in not thousands of studies later, no definite links with the food additive called MSG and health risks have ever been established which in a way speaks for itself. Maybe a fear of competition from foods from another culture is to blame. Oh, and do look for any hydrolyzed stuff in the ingredients of that healthy food you just bought(that’s MSG disguised as some other ingredient we’re still not looking out for). But what’s the worry if the experts say it’s healthy then it should be, used properly that is.
